Hougang Secondary is proud to be known for our strong emphasis on community youth leadership and applied STEM education, particularly in innovation.
Through structured leadership development opportunities, students learn to lead with purpose—serving their peers, contributing to the community, and making a positive difference beyond themselves. Our leadership programmes nurture voice, responsibility, and confidence, empowering students to step forward and lead with empathy and conviction.
At the same time, our applied STEM programmes expose students across all streams to real-world problem-solving, design thinking, and emerging technologies. From foundational coding and computational thinking to hands-on innovation projects and industry-linked learning experiences, students learn to apply knowledge meaningfully—not just to excel in examinations, but to solve authentic problems and prepare for the future.
