Financial Assistance


All Singapore Citizens in Government can apply for assistance under the MOE FAS. 

Income Criteria

A student is eligible for MOE FAS if he/she meets either of the following criteria:
Gross Household Income (GHI) not exceeding $2,750 per month
OR
Per Capita Income (PCI) not exceeding $690 per month.  

Students who wish to apply for the scheme can obtain the application form from Hougang Secondary school General Office, or download a copy of the MOE FAS Application Form

All application forms must be submitted together with the relevant documents to Hougang Secondary School General Office.

The application period for available assistance scheme / bursary / award have been closed. Please contact the General Office for enquiry.




The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund 2020 for Sec 1 students


We are pleased to inform that the application period for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund for students from low-income families will be opened from 13 Jan 2020 to 14 Feb 2020.  The application window is for students who are newly enrolled in HS this year.

Students who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:

a.   Student is a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR); and
b.   Family is living in a 4-room HDB flat or smaller; and
c.   Family has a Gross per capita income (PCI) of $690/month or less; and
d.   Student is receiving full-time formal education at a mainstream Pr/Sec/JC/CI/Mixed Level/Specialised School/Independent School/Specialised Independent School/MOE-designated full-time Madrasahs; and
e.   Is not concurrently receiving school pocket money from another STSPMF disbursing agency or receiving monthly school pocket money from other schemes, excluding MOE-FAS; and
f.    Has not been a STSPMF beneficiary for 24 months for their whole schooling years of primary and secondary school and 48 months for post-secondary school.

Please collect the application form from the school General Office before 14 Feb 2020.
